Reflecting on 2024
From hiring new team members to success in placing difficult roles, we have smashed through many targets and are incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished.
The most obvious source of pride is in our growing team – going from three members of staff to seven within ten months is never easy, especially when it wasn’t the original plan within the vision of business trajectory, but it has proven to be essential in building success.
Hiring eager, proactive talent boosts morale and productivity – both things we have seen consistently throughout the year. Our team of researchers are committed to delivering results, aiding in tasks out of their to-do lists in order to improve efficiency and applauding loudly for when a fellow team member celebrates their own personal wins.
Here at FSP, our collective mentality is one of balance. Whilst we all strive to work hard, effectively and productively, our social time together is equally as important and valuable to us – our summer party in the Isle of Wight being a shining example and another company highlight.
We find that quality time is a huge benefit for us. It is a chance in real time to bounce ideas off each other, feel more like a unit and absorb in the success we have built together.
Our bi-annual company meeting is always a highlight. Analysing all of our stats from the past year is a useful task. It is time to reflect on the work we have done, congratulate ourselves on our wins and learn lessons of improvement for the future. The acknowledgment of key highlights provides the perfect foundation to set even bigger goals and challenges upon and quantifying all of the placements made is a huge motivator to hit the ground running for the remainder of the year.
The windy weather unfortunately put a death to our initial plans of a lively water park adventure, however – like all good recruiters – we quickly adapted to our new circumstances and managed to have a wonderful afternoon of go-karting instead; the element of spontaneity making it all the more enjoyable!
Between frivolous activities and insightful meetings, the rest of the time was filled with delightful dinners, drinks and conversation. Food and drink are both ubiquitous love languages at FSP and our team is sociable and friendly, so recreational catch ups are full of laughter and entertainment.
These high levels of comradery and kinship also translate into achieving results – a key milestone of success being the placement of a particularly tough role.
Our job is not one of ease. A plethora of external factors play such a significant part in making or breaking our success. There is infinite space for human error when dealing with people and the nature of the market is dictated by a force completely outside of our control.
These were all aspects we were battling against earlier in the year when working to place a role in a scarce market with candidates who are known to be exceptionally risk-adverse and therefore generally unwilling to consider a move.
Time, effort, patience, resilience and determination were all traits displayed repeatedly for months – all of which were not in vain as we celebrated the offer acceptance by a candidate very well suited for the opportunity.
Being a driving force of involvement within someone’s career is a deeply rewarding feeling and we were all proud to commemorate such a fantastic endeavour.
All of our collective efforts have made 2024 a very eventful year and we couldn’t be happier to be closing out Q4 on such a high note.
2025 will bring on a fresh set of challenges as the market ebbs and flows with the winds of political sway. FSP is determined to face it all with our best foot forward.
We are excited for the new year, there are a lot of exciting plans in place and we look forward to sharing with you many more of our achievements to come!
